Why Choose Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of The Canary Islands, an archipelago located 1120 km south of Spain and only 112 km west of Morocco. Comprising seven islands spanning over 400 km from La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera in the west, to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote in the east.
The island is one of contrasts, from the lush green north to the hot dry south, there really is something for everyone.
The south has excellent beaches and water sports abound with wind surfing, jet ski´s, sailing, water skiing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. Boat trips can carry you off to scenic spots around the spectacular coastline such as the amazing cliffs of Los Gigantes, whilst taking a look at the pods of whales and dolphins, a joy to see in their natural habitat.
If you wish to be more energetic, take a hike through the national park of Las Cañadas del Teide, home to the huge volcano that dominates the island. The island has many historical hot spots, old buildings and churches grace the old towns of La Oratava and La Laguna, and there are many museums to be visited. If Golf is your thing, you have 6 courses to choose from, and there are plans for more.
Attractions include Loro Park in the north, with its family of Orca whales direct from Seaworld Florida, Aqualand, The Jungle Park, and of course the piece de resistance, Siam Park, which sports the highest water slide in Europe, carrying thrill seekers through a glass tunnel surrounded by alligators!!!
Add to that an enviable climate, with winter averages in the low to mid twenties, and I think we answer the question above, why Tenerife.
