Living in Golf del Sur

Golf del Sur offers a lot to the visitor, but also to the resident, particularly those with young families and those looking to retire. The appeal to golfers is clear, what enthusiast wouldn’t want a World Class Golf course on their doorstep? But Golf del Sur’s other attractions are often overlooked.

Aside from its central location on the South coast of Tenerife, Golf del Sur is tranquil and well maintained. The crime rate is virtually zero making Golf del Sur one of the safest places to live in the world.

For those with young families there is an English school. The English Education Centre teaches the UK National Curriculum to children aged 3-11 and also offers a number of extra-curricular activities. The proximity of the school, complete with the safe streets makes Golf del Sur a wonderful place to raise a family.

There are local supermarkets and shops throughout Golf del Sur, the majority being concentrated in the San Blas Shopping centre, which also includes numerous shops, bars and restaurants, car hire, money exchange, a hair dressers and even a church.

Just 5 minutes drive out of Golf del Sur is the Las Chafiras Retail Park, which includes a Hyper-market as well as numerous warehouses dedicated to furnishings, hardware, leisure and house and home.

Whilst golf is the primary sporting attraction in Golf del Sur, there are other ways to keep active, the most impressive of which clearly must be the new San Miguel marina offering its variety of water-sports from sailing to scuba diving. Golf del Sur is also home to the Winter Gardens bowling complex and there are several tennis courts and gymnasiums open to the public.

Beyond the sport there is nightlife, with a number of high quality bars and restaurants, almost all of them family friendly, some of our favourites include: Grandee O’Donnell’s and The Wild Geese, two excellent Irish Bars. La Pata de Oro and La Cueva Restaurants both in San Blas.
